My Story

I grew up in a small town in Lithuania surrounded by farm animals, nature, and freedom. Experiencing all four seasons, including very deep winters! I think, this played a big role in shaping my creativity from a young age. I was often doodling in the air with my fingers, I have always had a passion for drawing and various crafts. My mind was constantly brimming with creative ideas, leading me to write poetry and engage in creative writing too. I actively participated in readings and art competitions, earning recognition as a winner in several regional competitions. Additionally, I volunteered by making large-scale decorations, masks, and costumes for my school's events, utilising my skills by hand, in the absence of computers and printers at that time.

While exploring my creative and practical skills and witnessing their impact, I had a strong desire to pursue a career in design. Initially drawn to fashion design, I immersed myself in sewing, knitting, and crocheting. Later, my focus shifted to product design, where I crafted creations from wood, clay, and various natural materials. Upon completing secondary school, I started a family. As my son grew older, I briefly worked as a seamstress. But I held onto the dream of studying design at a nearby university. I pursued this ambition and obtained a Bachelor of Art and Design with a double specialisation in Art and Design Teaching from a university in Lithuania. During my second year at the university, I started working on my specialism and delved into the world of graphic design (branding and production). I have worked at local design studio and as a freelancer. Additionally, I was designing digital 2D/3D drawings for local architects.

After completing my studies, I worked as a graphic designer at the French branch in Lithuania, where timber houses were produced. Unfortunately, the branch closed down after a few years, prompting my family and I to move to the UK in search of better opportunities.
We settled in East London for 12 years, where I continued my work as a freelance graphic designer. Additionally, I founded a tutoring centre and managed it effectively, expanding the team as the number of students increased. Last time, we had a total of 90 students enrolled.

I taught arts, design, and technologies up to A-level, while my colleagues focused on teaching English, math, and science (KS1-4, SATs, GCSE, A-levels). We were in the process of expanding to larger premises when the Covid-19 pandemic hit, bringing everything to a halt. Upon reopening, the business never fully recovered, leading to its eventual closure.
The pauses in my teaching made me feel as if a part of me was missing. I have always been passionate about sharing my knowledge and skills to positively impact others' lives. Despite having loyal clients and finding fulfilment as a graphic designer, I still felt the urge to tutor.

The pandemic prompted us to move to the countryside for a better quality of life. We chose to live in Wisbech, where we have more free time to enjoy peaceful country views, feel welcomed by friendly locals, and be a part of a trusting community.
In Wisbech, I restarted my teaching career and found fulfilment once more :)

In my spare time, I unwind by sketching and doing crafts, walking dogs, enjoying time with my family, and traveling and camping throughout scenic England and Europe to discover its rich history and heritage.
We recently moved back to Lithuania to be nearer to those we love. I’ve continued pursuing my creative path here, and I feel incredibly happy to live in my beautiful homeland again.
Together with my husband, we have two sons aged 24 and 11, two female Labradors (a mum and daughter), and a fish tank with goldfish, eels, and catfishes. I have a passion for gardening, so I dedicate my late evenings by taking care of the plants in our garden.
